In this post, we will see how to update your KYC details in UAN portal. The KYC (Know your Customer) consists of identification of the person and his place of residence.
The EPFO has issued a mandate to update your KYC details online through UAN account. The KYC documents are Aadhaar Card, PAN Card, Bank Account details, Driver’s license, Passport, Election, ration card and National Population Register.
The proper KYC helps to process your transfer or withdrawal of PF money faster. Even your bank account details are must to claim your PF corpus.
How to update your EPF KYC Details in UAN online?
Simple steps to upload your KYC documents on the EPF UAN online:
Step 1: Visit the UAN portal – https://unifiedportal-mem.epfindia.gov.in/memberinterface/ using your UAN credentials.
Step 2: Once the main page is displayed on your screen, click on “Manage” on the top bar. From the drop down list, click on ‘KYC’.
Step 3: Once the KYC page is displayed, select the KYC information you wish to update from the list.
Step 4: Once you update the KYC detail, the status of your KYC will show as pending until it is approved by the current employer.
Once your employer has approved your KYC document, you will receive an SMS confirming the same.
Do remember that online claim process is available only to those who have Aadhaar linked in UAN. Also, if you have been an EPF member for less than 5 continuous years, the maturity corpus is taxable hence you will also need to furnish PAN as KYC.
