IMA starts 2021 mission pink health in online format
Gurugram 9 July. Indian Medical Association gurugram started Mission Pink Health 2021
in an online format to reach out to adolescent girls in various schools. The MPH team consisting of eminent paediatricians anc gynaecologist of Gurugram took part in this online event . Around 7 schools participated .
Dr Vandana Narula president IMA Gurgaon said keeping covid situation in mind it is impossible to do physical sessions in school at present. Dr Sarika Verma secretary IMA Gurgaon said this is a wonderful initiative to reach out to young girls from 9th to 12th classes and provide them information by medical experts.
Today the first session was carried out by Dr Savita Chaudhary , MPH chairperson and Dr Reema Jain secretary. Important topics like tips on healthy living, importance of physical and mental health,menstrual hygiene and basic knowledge about menstruation, lifestyle modification , self awareness snd self esteem issues were addressed. 82 Girls from several schools attended this event on platform sponsored by Emcure company.
Dr Reema said earlier we used to carry out anemia screening camps in schools and used to distribute iron tablets. Dr. Savita said ‘We are looking forward to interacting with adolescent girls in person resuming the school visits once the covid situation settles.
