Ratha yatra Of Lord Jagannath owes its origin to Puri in Orissa. In Brahmanda Puran it is said that even whoever sees the Ratha of Lord Jagannath all the sins are wiped out and not to talk of those who

welcome Him on the way. Such people not only get blessings but also attain the abode of the Lord after death.

Devotees from different countries of the world like Russia, England,

America, Bosnia, Argentina, Mexico, Australia, South Africa and

different parts of Asia are expected to participate in the Ratha

Yatra. Some of the devotees from Vrindavan have come to Gurgaon and New Delhi ISKCON Temple to participate in the Ratha Yatra. Most of them were ecstatic about the Ratha Yatra,” informs Rishi Kumar Das a senior devotee.

About Ratha Yatra

first Ratha Yatra of Lord Jagannath, Balbhadra, and Subhadra in San

Francisco, USA. Not only did this Ratha Yatra become a phenomenon but today all over the different countries of the world chariot of  Jagannath’s Ratha keep on wheeling annually conveying to people the rich Vedic Cultural heritage of India.

Ecstatic about the Ratha Yatra, Sunit Sharma, an employee from a

multinational company in Gurgaon says, “ This Ratha Yatra is on Sunday and it is a holiday. I will come to be in the Ratha Yatra for the whole day pulling the ropes of Ratha.

It is really interesting to be part of Ratha Yatra and I feel we are from a global village. I am surprised at the dedication of the western devotees. They are really good devotees compared to we Indians. They give lots of respect to our Vedic culture and tradition,” says Navita Sharma, a housewife from a posh locality of Gurgaon in DLF.

The Ratha Yatra gives all the people an opportunity to redeem sins
