Media students Interacted with the star cast of ‘Jholachhap’

Faridabad, 5 July – The Department of Communication and Media Technology (CMT) of JC Bose University of Science and Technology, YMCA, Faridabad, in collaboration with JP Pictures today organized "Grand Live Streaming and Interactive Session” with the cast of web-series ‘Jholachhap’, based on the story of quack doctors. The web-series featured renowned Bollywood artists like Mehak Manwani, Chittaranjan Tripathy and Mushtaq Khan and it was produced by Mr Jyoti Prakash.


The event, organized in the Vivekanand Auditorium of the University, was started with Saraswati Vandana and traditional lamp lighting by the star cast of the web-series. Dean (FLMAS) Prof. Atul Mishra and Chairperson of the Department of CMT Dr. Pawan Singh Malik were also present on this occasion. Film Producer and Director Mr Jyoti Prakash, star cast members Mehak Manwani, Chittaranjan Tripathy, Mr LuvKush Kundu, Jaspal Kaur Tikka, Chandan Mehta and Assistant Director Deepak Khurana graced the occasion and were felicitated. Mrs Supna Suri from "Radio Maharani", the Radio Partner for the web series was also present on this occasion.


The program started with a welcome address by Dr. Pawan Singh Malik. Dr Malik said that cinema is the mirror of society, and emphasized that cinema is a platform to present the social problems which are beautifully portrayed in this web series. He mentioned the strong bond formed between the director Mr. Jyoti Prakash and the CMT department during the "Indogama Film Festival 2018".


Further, an interactive session was organized where the star cast shared their experiences during the live shooting of a web series in the middle of a Pandemic. The poor health-care system in the country, societal demarcation against women and the prevalence of myths were some of the questions raised by media students and were aptly replied by the panellists.
Mehak Manwani, the lead actress of the web-series expressed that the creativity in the web series was enhanced manifolds with the live location shoot. The event was a success aimed at providing a distinctive characteristic of the film world to the media students. At the end of the program, Assistant Professor Dr Taruna Narula proposed the formal vote of thanks.

The session was well coordinated by the faculty members of the CMT Department Dr Subhash Goel, Dr. Sonia Hooda, Dr Sudhir and Dr. Rahul Arya.
