Panchayat making 95 percent digital payment of electricity bill will get a reward of five lakh rupees - PC Meena
Gurugram, 26 August - Online digital payment of electricity bills is being promoted by Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam.
Managing Director of Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam, Sh. PC Meena informed that an amount of 05 lakh rupees will be given to the Panchayat as a reward who is making 95 percent digital payment. Similarly, 02 lakh rupees will be given to the panchayat who is making 90 to 95 percent digital payment and one lakh rupees to the panchayat who is making 80 to 90 percent digital payment of electricity bills. This amount has been earmarked for Panchayats to encourage consumers to use digital payment mode, he added.
Out of the bills being issued of about 1400 crores, Rs 1100 crores are being deposited in the Nigam through online payment, PC Meena said.
He said that about 60 percent of the total consumers of the Nigam are paying bills through digital payment and about 80 percent of the bill amount is being paid through digital mode. In this includes domestic, commercial, agricultural and industrial consumers. He said that the consumers can check their electricity bill information and make the digital payment from the website of Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam i.e. www.dhbvn.org.in.
PC Meena said that to encourage rural consumers to make online payments prizes worth 2100 rupees are also being given by the Nigam. In this scheme, one lucky consumer of the Panchayat is rewarded.
He said that electricity consumers are being encouraged by the Nigam to pay their electricity bills online by giving rewards under the incentive scheme. The purpose of this scheme is that electricity consumers should start paying their bills online. This will save the time of the consumers to commute to the Nigam offices to pay the electricity bill and the consumer will also get the reward as per the scheme.
