Shri Priyanshu Dewan, Assistant Commissioner of Police Cyber Crime, Gurugram constituted various teams of 4 Cyber Police Stations namely East, West, South and Manesar and conducted CYBER CRIME AWARENESS programmes at various institutions like Sushant University, Lions School Sector-10, Swiss Cottage School Sector-23, Luminaire Society Sector-59, Govt School, Behrampur and various corporate offices like Policy Bazar, Delhivery, VVDN (Sector-8 Manesar), SGM (Sector-4, Manesar).
The participants were made aware about the different modus operandi of cyber criminals used to cheat people.These include: - cutting electricity supply, updatation/closing of credit/debit card/bank account, selling/buying goods online, updation of Aadhar card/other documents, Getting Google playstore based cyber loan, impersonating relatives. They cheat people by sending SMS, hyperlinks, phone calls causing mental pain, social isolation and financial harm.
The participants were explained methods to prevent them and report them by dialling at CYBER HELPLINE TOLL FREE NO 1930 or by lodging a complaint at www.cybercrime.gov.in or by contacting your nearest police station.
