MCG and Apollo 24|7 launch Clean Air Initiative to improve the deteriorating AQI levels
The Municipal Corporation of Gurgaon and healthcare giant Apollo 24|7 have taken to roads to curb air pollution and improve the quality of life of residents of Delhi NCR with their arduous environmental campaign.
The mass callout to raise awareness for and to mobilize ‘means and efforts’ towards improving the AQI, comes in forefront after a recent study which states that air pollution has shortened life expectancy in New Delhi by up to 10 years, and across the country by 5 years.
The campaign, launched at GMDA office Gurgaon, Haryana, on Saturday 12th November 2022, was flagged off by Addl. Chief Executive Officer (Urban Environment), Mr. Subhash Chander Yadav. At the launch event, Mr. Yadav, lauded the efforts of Apollo 24|7 towards this community welfare initiative and called for more participation from private and public sector to tackle the increasing menace of smog and air pollution in the NCR region.
During the flag off, mobile truck-mounted anti-smog guns were set to sail, which will be stationing at multiple locations with worst local AQI. The event was also marked by mask distribution and awareness drive, where Mr Yadav spoke at length at individual and community level contributions at can help achieve this mission.
