GMDA team fast tracks work of shifting of master water supply pipeline being undertaken at Vatika Chowk
Work was completed by today morning & water supply was resumed to all connections by 8 AM instead of proposed 6 PM
13 September: Due to the ongoing construction of the new underpass at Vatika Chowk by NHAI, there was a requirement for GMDA to undertake the work of shifting their 1400 mm i/d master Water Supply Pipeline laid in the area. To execute this work, a 36-hour shutdown of water supply from Boosting Station-51, starting from 06.00 AM on 12th September up to 06.00 PM of 13th September was scheduled. A Public Notice in this regard was also issued for the awareness of the citizens.
GMDA team initiated the shifting of the pipeline work yesterday morning as per the schedule and worked round-the-clock to ensure the work is completed within the given frame of time. Due to the efforts put in by the team, the work was completed much before the stipulated time frame and water supply was resumed from the Boosting Station-51 to all connections by 8 AM, to provide ease to the residents residing in the sectors 42-74 & Village Badshahpur which were affected during the shutdown. Citizens did not have to face the 36-hour water supply shutdown as the supply was started from the Boosting Station as soon as the pipeline shifting work was completed by GMDA team within 26 hours.
