Inspection Visit by GMDA Enforcement Wing on Sector 84/88 and 85/89 master dividing roads
Instructions issued to encroachers to clear hurdles in order to implement construction of service roads by the Authority
Gurugram, 12 June: The Enforcement Wing of GMDA along with officers of Infra 1 division of GMDA visited the 60-meter utility corridor and sector dividing roads of sectors Sector 84/88 and 85/89, in order to clear the hurdles for implementing work pertaining to construction of service roads along this stretch.
The teams visited the visited the demarcated site from Elan Miracle to Dadi Satti Chowk, wherein the main carriageway has been re-carpeted and the DBM layer has also been laid to improve the ridership quality of this road. Additionally, development of service roads is to be carried out but the issue of existing encroachment on the ROW of GMDA land which was proving a hurdle was raised by the concerned officials of Infra 1 division which looks into development of road infrastructure in the city.
The Enforcement Wing of GMDA led by DTP GMDA R.S. Batth along with officers of the concerned divisions visited the 60-meter utility corridor and sector dividing roads of sectors Sector 84/88 and 85/89 and found encroachment in the area which included nursery, temporary carts, kiosks as well as a few permanent structures. Almost 30 such illegal encroachments were identified which were on the area falling under the ROW of GMDA land where service roads of approximate 5 KM length on both sides of the roads have to constructed.
During the visit it was found that the land owners residing in close vicinity have raised such temporary structures for their financial gains and clear directions for removal of these structures within two days’ time period were issued.
“The infrastructure division had pointed out few encroachment related issues in these sectors which were posing a hurdle in their work. The teams have visited the location and will start removing encroachment throughout the stretch by next week. In the first phase we visited the sector dividing roads of sector 84/88 and 85/89 and directed the encroachers to remove their encroachments from the ROW of GMDA land. In the second phase the sector dividing roads of sector 86/90 and 87/91 and multi-utility corridor will be taken up for removal of encroachment,” said DTP GMDA, R.S. Batth.
