*Gurugram, 1 September 2025*:  To safeguard residents from waterlogging during the monsoon, The Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) since July, has kept its Flood Control Office functional round-the-clock, ensuring machinery, manpower and helpline numbers are in place to tackle waterlogging and provide immediate assistance to residents during monsoon rains.

As part of the flood control office setup, key hotspots identified as waterloggin-prone locations which include Narsinghpur, Khandsa Chowk, Basai Chowk, Rajiv chowk, Tau Devi Lal Stadium, have been equipped with adequate pumping machinery to pump out storm water during periods of heavy rainfall. Additionally, mobile tractor mounted pump-sets and suction tankers have also been readied for deployment across the city as per on-ground situation. This flexible system ensures rapid drainage support wherever required.

Dedicated manpower has been engaged by GMDA to carry out regular cleaning of drain inlets, road gullies and drainage network to facilitate quick discharge of storm water from the master roads of the city.

The Flood Control Office also oversees drain performance and coordinates field operations.  Patrolling squads have also been deployed round-the-clock to monitor vulnerable locations and respond swiftly to any emerging situation.

Complaints received at the control room are immediately relayed to the concerned teams for prompt redressal.*
