CUH awards Ph.D. Degree Visually Impaired Bhadur Lal
Bhadur Lal, a visually impaired research scholar from the Department of Teacher Education at the Central University of Haryana (CUH), Mahendragarh, has successfully completed his Ph.D. after overcoming several challenges. He is the first scholar under the visually impaired category to receive a Ph.D. degree from CUH, bringing recognition to both the University and his native village, Malpur Dinga in Jammu.
Prof. Tankeshwar Kumar, Vice Chancellor congratulated Bhadur Lal and praised his determination, stating that the University stands with all students who pursue education despite several challenges. He emphasized that strong willpower and hard work can overcome any obstacle and noted that Bahadur's journey would inspire many others.
Bhadur completed his Ph.D. research under the supervision of Prof. Sarika Sharma on the topic “Education in Inclusive Settings: Exploring the Mitigation Strategies for Visually Impaired Students in Higher Education Institutions.” His research draws from his personal experiences and highlights the need for teacher training, emotional support, resource development, and inclusive policies.
Prof. Pramod Kumar, Head of the Department, appreciated Bhadur’s perseverance and noted that CUH remains committed to providing equal educational opportunities for all learners, including those with special needs.
