Gurugram, 2 September: On Monday, the city’s Grievance Redressal System received approximately 170 grievances from residents reporting issues related to sewage overflow, blocked drains, and waterlogging across different parts of the city. These complaints were under the jurisdiction of GMDA, Municipal Corporation Gurugram and Municipal Corporation Manesar.
The dedicated call center executives promptly recorded the grievances, which were submitted by citizens through the toll-free helpline 1800-180-1817, WhatsApp number 7840001817, as well as on the online grievance portal. All registered complaints have been escalated to the concerned field departments for redressal and facilitating on-ground action.
The grievance redressal system has been developed by the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority and complaints related to GMDA, MCG and MCM are submitted by the citizens.
The Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) since July, has kept its Flood Control Office functional round-the-clock, ensuring machinery, manpower and helplines are in place to tackle waterlogging and provide immediate assistance to residents during monsoon rains.
GMDA officials stated that swift coordination is being ensured between the control room, field teams, and patrolling staff so that citizens’ complaints are addressed in a timely and effective manner. Mobile pumping machinery, suction tractor mounted pump sets, and manpower have been deployed by GMDA at all key locations to support on-ground flood relief measures.
"Our priority is to ensure that residents face minimal inconvenience during heavy rains. GMDA is committed to safeguarding Gurugram from waterlogging challenges through continuous monitoring and citizen support services," said senior GMDA officials.
The Authority has further appealed to residents to continue using the helpline numbers and web portal to report any waterlogging or drainage-related concerns so that the concerned teams of GMDA, MCG and MCM can respond quickly.
